@nixCraft@mastodon.social Job losses either with UBI or Guillotines. If they really think AI will replace a significant amount of jobs, 10% or more of them then I don't see the population staying quiet and just accepting that.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Why should we do anything whatsoever "for the benefits of AI?" Instead, and for the benefit of human beings, let's avoid so-called "AI."

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Sam Altman is a con man. The fact that the world at large seems to take him on his word is a true testimony to how dire a situation we're all in right now. I get that kids believe all his bs, but grown ass journalists should have the ability for some bare minimum critical thinking, at least if you lived through the dot com bubble. There are plenty scientists that debunk all the blah blah this man utters on a daily basis, but they aren't feeding the narrative I guess... 🤷

@nixCraft@mastodon.social The other take away from this “article” is that Altman and Amodei want regulation over all the theoretical, made up damage that AI will never do to humanity in future, but none on the actual damage it’s doing to the environment and economy right now.
