nate graham of the @kde@floss.social fame thinks that bringing up ethical issues with the confabulation machinery should be generally avoided because it can make the fans of synthetic text extruders sad: I have a recommendation for everyone: in the future, either don’t discuss the ethical dimensions of the topic, or do it only with an extraordinary amount of empathy for diversity of opinions and value judgments. Anything else is just gonna devolve into negativity and broken relationships. i'm but a simple motherfucker, but to me this looks like nate graham wants to block any conversation about ethical impact of allowing use of the plagiarism generators. as much as i dislike chomsky, i think that “manufacturing consent” is what nate graham is doing here, and that it is disgraceful.
