I’ve broken free from iCloud, I just back up my photos with Syncthing now Although it’s not ideal due to iOS being iOS. To back up everything, the app I‘m using needs to export everything to a directory in Files, so effectively it uses 2x storage. Although, by the time that becomes a problem I’ll probably switch to Android again 😅
