While I don't want God in schools in that sense, either (other than teaching about the world's different religions and belief systems, for instance), one of the central parts of most religions is morality. Are there many churches that gloriously fuck it up? Yup. But there are also many churches that do it pretty well. So in the end, there are plenty of churches that _do_ probably improve morality. They're just generally not the ones that make the headlines.

Personally I've never met a single self professed Christian that I would have considered a good person. So headlines or not, I have my doubts there.
