@bob_zim@infosec.exchange @alice@lgbtqia.space @deviantollam@defcon.social second the Schlage option because it can join WiFi without needing a home automation hub. That said all smart locks are hack able so not a super fan myself.

Breaching a Thread network to send an unlock command is a *lot* more difficult than simply cutting the deadbolt with a reciprocating saw if the door opens outwards, or kicking the door in if the door opens inwards. Most deadbolts’ strike plates are remarkably poorly installed.
