🍅A supermarket tomato may look perfect, but too often it lacks the flavor nature intended. Then you taste one grown in healthy, living soil by a farmer who truly cares, and everything changes. The sweetness, richness, and freshness come alive. It’s a simple reminder of what real food should be. We spend so much on technology and possessions, yet often settle for poor-quality food.Everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious produce. When did you last taste a tomato that truly tasted like a tomato? 🌱🍅

@Abelvicent@mastodon.social In year 2025. In 2026 I have to wait some more weeks. Either tomatoes from my own garden or tomatoes from friends (an organic farmer who doesn’t grow vegetables commercially) or tomatoes from an organic farmer I know who sells them. Organic and from a local, well-known source – that’s the secret.

@Abelvicent@mastodon.social same with corn. Supermarket corn is so bland and fibrous. Proper corn is a treat. My family used to drive a solid hour out to a farm to buy a bunch of corn from a farmer rather than go to the store for that reason.

@Abelvicent@mastodon.social One way to talk about capitalism is as an efficient application of resources to problems. Identifying the most efficient solution to a need. Another way to describe capitalism is maximising misery. It effectively determines the lowest quality product or worst service that a customer will still pay for. Modern produce shows this really clearly.
