@filmbrain@mastodonapp.uk I actually saw the two Years films out of order. Temple first. And I was able to follow it, stand alone, well.
Tho, there was that one detail of the top of the oscuary staring me in the face all of Temple, & I didnt know. Just a shot of the oscuary would have gutted me had I seen Years first.
I found both films utterly fascinating. I would have thought the very start of Years was just vibes story. Not that it would lead to the Jimmys.

@filmbrain@mastodonapp.uk I found Ian & Sampson's interaction the most fascinating of all. But problematic too. The idea tht the infection is curable, w/ not-made-up drugs, means every infected killed for the audience's amusement was also a person that could be saved. A person traped in a viral induced stupor. And tht answer prob dies w/ Ian. But problematic with the visual of a white, British doctor experimenting on a brown man. Naming him. And assuming a friendship with him. I'm not sure on that 1.
