Been working on enabling translations for Kepublicity, and wrapping my mind around all the various workflows. I'm familiar with Transifex and Weblate (and have used both), and have passing knowledge about GNOME's Damned Lies platform, but I want to understand something at a higher level. Is the main benefit of a translations platform that it lowers the barrier to contributing language changes for people who might not be familiar with git? As a temporary workflow, is there anything inherently wrong with pointing translators to a tool like https://flathub.org/en/apps/org.gnome.Gtranslator, and then having them edit the .po files and file a pull request?
