@ncdominie@mastodon.scot Also in case you didn't know, OCR and flatbed scanners exist because of Ray Kurzweil wanting to make a reading machine for blind people. I love hearing about disability things becoming mainstream.

@ncdominie@mastodon.scot @drj@typo.social A current job contains reusing scanned text and I laughed a lot. (Often just take the image file of the scan, open it in Apple Preview and copy text parts works better than OCR. I guess there is some kind of AI involved.)
