Malaysian radio station FlyFM gifted batik to British girl group Flo and told them they’re Malaysian batik. They’re actually Indonesian ones, with distinct Megamendung and Parang patterns. Some Malaysians are upset and angry especially because it happened on Malaysia’s Independence Day. Indonesians are amused and irritated at yet another Indonesian heritage being claimed as Malaysian. Someone from the station apologized saying the shopkeeper they bought the batik from told her they’re local batik.
