@ahimsa_pdx@disabled.social There are also those of us who need aids such as canes, walkers, crutches and wheelchairs PART of the time, such as the infamous "Bad Day". Sometimes, we have to use them for events to have a good time and not have to worry about straining ourselves to the point where we'll have a whole slew of bad days as a result too.

@giascott@mas.to @ahimsa_pdx@disabled.social That's me. There was a point at which my mobility issues were so bad that I saw a walker in my future -- and I was in my early 50s. I have a cane now, and shoes with orthotics that are all I need most days. That cane is a life-saver, and I won't hesitate to use other aids on the days when it isn't enough. Anyone who thinks they know just by looking what someone's case of need might be is, well, delusional.
