lol I muted a post on Threads and finally came back to it to find a community note attached that…very much proves my point!
Roughly a quarter of hospitalized patients (per a study) see a chaplain? That’s huge — and makes their absence from medical dramas even more galling!

Also loved how many people were like “I was in the hospital and I never saw a chaplain!” Like, I’ve been in a hospital many times, but I’ve never seen a cardiac surgeon. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist!

@jackmjenkins@mastodon.online I have an old friend who became a hospital Chaplin. For years they worked 3rd shift at a major hospital and just recently got move to day ship in pediatrics. I have not idea how they deal with that shit, It sounded rough
