  @art_of_goulwenr@mastodon.art So I saw it and I have some thoughts. I thought he focused way too much on the design and structure of DC than actual federal actions and gutting of departments. He makes good points though about the tax situation but at the same time fails to mention that DC residents are taxed way more themselves than the workers in Virginia or Maryland as well as have to deal with higher sales and home tax ( almost encouraging people not to live in the district especially when it comes to buying a home). I wish he also focused more on the racial situation in DC. He mentions it briefly but he could have gone deeper in how the gutting of federal jobs by the Trump administration directly impacts and affects the Black and Hispanic middle class of DC where these jobs provided stability and security for generations and had strong anti discrimination laws. Now it is gone. The English auto generated voice is funky. I wish I could understand more of the French. French is a language I really should study more, more than German or Czech or Ukrainian but I have to make time for all of this lol. I know B1 Chinese and A2 Spanish (just growing up Latino) but I always want to get better y'know. Be against the monolingual American stereotype.
