Meanwhile the BBC, in it's gloriously "neutral" way has decided to attack asylum seeking... Yesterday it was faking sexuality, today it's faking domestic abuse. They throw around numbers without context, share anecdotes as if they are the rule, not the exception and target extremely vulnerable people... Rainbow Migration shared this message yesterday which is well worth reading - https://www.rainbowmigration.org.uk/news/behaviour-by-a-small-number-of-bad-faith-actors-does-not-reflect-the-reality-of-lgbtqi-people-seeking-asylum/ #UKPol #Asylum

If you haven't seen it, Flee is an excellent film on seeking asylum and specifically queer experiences - https://boxd.it/ponM Also, ten years old now, but this old Stonewall report is still more likely to accurately reflect queer asylum experience than the BBC hit piece - https://www.stonewall.org.uk/resources/no-safe-refuge-2016 #UKPol

@penwing Complete coincidence that BBC News are splashing a multi-day investigation attacking migrants and asylum seekers 3 weeks before nationwide elections. #GBBCNews #UKPol
