Have you ever wondered why many Christian images feature tools like hammers, pliers, saws and nails just sort of gratuitously tacked on? It's Arma Christi, and it's very weird.

@Tarnport@mastodon.green The handful of hair is probably a reference to horse hair, which was used as reinforcement for plaster. Still alarming, if the horse died of anthrax...
