Quick vent:so many running advice articles talk about "the" right cadence, or range of cadences. That's ridiculous. I'm 6'0. Mrs Tek's 4'9. There is no plausible world in which we'll have the exact same stride length, meaning we can't possibly have the same cadence at a given speed. Runners: find the cadence that works *for you*. Ignore idiotic unpersonalized advice telling you how fast your own legs should move. You know better than they do.

    @tek@freeradical.zone the most useful advice i got was from the "good" running shoe store in town. they really did a lot to be sure that my gait/pronation/etc were a good match for shoe. they also had advice on where to run, a bit on cadence/pacing, etc. helps that the staff were all runners.
