So the egg soaked up the soy sauce and it got slightly salty and got a bit of soy flavour. Can see why that is popular.

@Ichinin@infosec.exchange I had yaki(soba? somen?) last weekend with a friend, with a tea egg. Never had it before, and I suspect it was very similar "picks up a little of the flavor" as an accent
