A stranger picked up a phone and told Michigan Child Protective Services a lie about a gay father and his four-year-old twins.
By nightfall: a CPS worker and a state trooper at the door in Traverse City. Forensic interviews arranged for the children. The father ordered not to be alone with them. He spent the night away, awake the whole of it.
He called it the ugliest thing that has happened to him since he entered public life.
