@yvg@indieweb.social The wheel runs freely and noise free when pedaling, this is something in the freewheel section. Bearings or other parts. Thanks for the offer, I will yolo it then and keep going until at some point I guess it completely breaks.

Agreed, sounds like bearings. Not much you can do, but some hubs do allow you to manually pull the driver off the hub body and inspect, if this one is one of those, and you have access to something like a rag and a clean space to take a look, you might find a foreign object in there that you can remove with your hands. Otherwise, yeah, that sounds like a rebuild when you get to civilization.
