Allen’s group eventually got pushed out towards a nearby Fred Meyer, where some of the transphobes went inside and asked staff to call police to protect them. Meanwhile, police were already nearby.
Here’s Tommy hiding inside Fred Meyer

At around 6:40 p.m., I saw Portland police sitting around the corner. By approximately 6:54 p.m., PPB had arrived at Fred Meyer. I have photos documenting the police presence. Officers remained alongside Allen’s group in vehicles and on foot. After getting kicked out of the store, another person was maced after walking out of Fred Meyer. He had been shopping and verbally confronted the transphobes outside. He later told me he had been inside Fred Meyer to buy “pork chops and a water filter.” He was just shopping.
