How about the UK government stop doing business with US companies that have no intention of ever properly paying taxes against the income they generate in the UK…would that be wild or just common sense? In 2024 the company [#Palantir ]paid just £2.1m in UK corporation tax, despite declaring profits of over £25m, giving an effective tax rate of just over 8%, researchers found. The UK corporation tax rate was 25% that year and remains at that level. #EatTheRich #FairTax https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/aug/05/palantir-corporation-tax-uk-2024-accounting-practices

@JugglingWithEggs@mstdn.social What arrogance! Palantir takes the benefits and avoids the costs; not exactly the behaviour of a good corporate citizen. Perhaps the expectations for their behaviour weren’t well explained to them? 🤔 (Ha ha, I will have my little joke… 🤡) #UKPol #arrogance #notTheBehaviourOfAGoodCorporateCitizen #behaviouralExpectationsNotExplainedPerhaps #littleJoke

@JugglingWithEggs@mstdn.social It should be a standard clause in all government (and other related) contracts that the UK revenue of the company must be taxed at a minimum of the standard corporation rate. Is it so difficult?
