@telepyleia@infosec.exchange I do tend to the overly serious, so I was taken with this article: https://www.liberalcurrents.com/prairieland-a-tactical-and-strategic-analysis/. I’m inclined to the view that the purpose of protest is to get the normies on your side (the MLK approach).
But I’m not a joiner and my carrying a sign is something I do out of duty rather than enthusiasm.

@telepyleia@infosec.exchange Seems to me protest has to address two audiences: the uninvolved normies, who might be persuaded to care; and those with power, who need to worry that this could get out of hand (especially if normies get riled up). That’s a tricky balance: scaring the powerful (things like highway and bridge closures, much less smashing windows) tends to repel the normies. (1/2)
