And I had a "luck" because it was old laptop. I used to test laptops and other equipment. Installing Windows was a huge problem there. The installer would fail to detect the touchpad (which isn't such a big deal) and even fail to see the hard drive. In order for it to be visible and for me to be able to install Windows on it, I had to load a special driver.
And on #Linux, everything worked just fine - all the hardware was available even on a Live USB with Fedora.

@cichy1173 Joke on me: Maybe Microsoft being an linux contributor... wants to suggest everyone that windows is not a best choice for them from the first impressions.
