When I moved into this house (30 years ago as of the end of August), one of the first things I complained about to the town was that 4 or 5 of us had deep ditches between the sidewalks in front of our houses and the street. The rest did not. This resulted in people getting stuck in them in winter (filled with snow, they look like a place you can park; worse, town plows clear out the snow, straddling the sidewalks & the street, making the ditch REALLY look like road, exacerbating things). “Can’t do it.” Why? “Because vague reasons.” They’re filling it in today.
