Can someone more knowledgeable with #git then I am tell me what kind of psychopath you have to be to forbid `wip` commits in pre-commit hooks or if there’s an actual reason behind it ?
It’s the second time I’m trying to work on a code-base that does this, and I’m stuck having to choose between:
- having disgusting commit messages
- constantly toggle git-hooks to just be able to *save my recent progress*
- just… not commit anything and risk messing things up
As someone who likes to move fast, try things out then only afterwards slow down, cleanup my work and squash commits together; not being able to make `wip` commits causes a huge amount of friction.
