"The waves are too big, we have to get out of here!", shouted David Gerard over the roar of the storm.
Prof. Emily M. Bender stood with one hand on the mast, looking out towards the lighthouse with a steely face, "No, we have to go back for Elias Throne, the lighthouse keeper!".
"But the orphans!", exclaimed David.
"You take them back to shore, I'll get Elias Thorne", reasoned Emily.

@MichaelTBacon@social.coop @emilymbender@dair-community.social @davidgerard@circumstances.run David and Emily grunted as they heaved and hoed as they lowered the wooden lifeboat down into the icey water. It would be hard work, but they both knew Emily could do it. "See you on the other side, captain", Emily stepped onto the lifeboat. Despite the chilly wind and driving rain, Emily was sweating as she stepped onto land. The little island was just big enough to hold the lighthouse, a rock and a bench out of the water.
