Turned out to be quite the day off. Somewhat unexpectedly we had a cruise ship. Leah’s cousin was one of the cultural interpreters on board and convinced the captain to make Arctic Bay a stop. So this morning we wee invited out to the boat with the cultural performers and others and had lunch. In the afternoon we took Leah’s cousin, the captain, the other cultural interpreter, and three other crew/expedition staff out to the cabin. We at maktaaq and bannock, drank tea, and visited. Late getting back because we were enjoying ourselves, but the ship wouldn’t leave without the captain. Turns out the captain is the cousin of a friend who over wintered here in their sailboat a few years back. #Nunavut
