Long ago I was pissed off with my headphone wire that twisted itself so much it broke, I made a wacky prototype out of duct tape and paper clips. I think it could have been better if i had 3d printer. I still don't have it but here's the idea. A chain around wire prevents it to twist a lot. hard piece - chain - hard piece - chain
