@lproven @theregister just use regular freebsd. it's pretty easy to set up and it has wayland. can even run KDE if you want. ghostbsd is just a bastardised freebsd with a really dumbed down installer. you could accomplish the same result with a shell script, if you want to auto-install a bunch of machines that way.
also, if you write an article about xlibre, even in a negative light, you only promote it. there are others e.g. wayback:
https://wayback.freedesktop.org/
i recommend wayback for x11 things

@libreleah @theregister I really like GhostBSD. I have been reviewing FreeBSD since 13.1: https://www.theregister.com/2022/05/20/freebsd_131/ In the 4 years since I've just about acquired enough skills to know what pitfalls to avoid and be able to install a working VM first time. GhostBSD is _substantially_ easier. I do not like KDE at all, and haven't since KDE 2.0 came out. By 3, for me it was too bloated to even consider. I don't like anything much that currently uses Wayland. The only Wayland environment I'd even consider daily-driving is COSMIC.
