@Eichi@mastodon.bierschutzpartei.de gnome leadership has been like this for a while and it's exactly why KDE has been overtaking them on many features and abilities. on Gnome you can't even have desktop icons without third party plugins, which break with every update because the max-version in the plugin needs to match the version of the environment.
