Part of why I struggle to post on the Fediverse is because I was posting against TESCREAL many years ago, and got atttacked for it, but now, those same people are anti-TESCREAL, and getting cheered for their wisdom.
Like, I know it will sound incredible to folk here today, but this place used to be very supportive of "effective altruism," and I recall bad arguments with folk who argued that effective altruism, not decolonization, was the tool for solving our shared future.
Weirdly those folk now are just, anti-TESCREAL, in the way their TESCREAL was anti-capitalism, and they aren't pro-decolonization: the change comes from which thing they stand *against*, not what they stand *for*.
And trying to talk to folk who, by and large, are against whatever their social media is against the loudest, from that social media, is... exhausting.

The cool thing about how Mastodon handles data and search means I'll never be able to prove that hacker bros used to scout hashtags like SettlerSaturday to replyguy at native folk about how we are actually the reason we aren't living in some techno-utopia, and so anyone who wants to dismiss this post as me exaggerating some personal gripe can, and anyone who wants to take it seriously... doesn't really have a way to.
