That’s done enough for the first try now, and a new fretboard is on its way, and I spent a little while installing the better ferrules, the old sort it had were the thin, stamped out kind. Disassembled the other 12 string just for the ferrules (the steel ring around the tuning pegs). . EDIT TO ADD: starting to see a different shape sanded into it between the bass and treble sides, I took more off the treble side than the bass, and got closer to planned shape there too. I’ll try to adjust that tomorrow, get the bass side closer to the plan. . It’s something that always happens, I assume because I’m right handed and one eye dominant as well, I mean most people are tilted to one side. Of coarse I tried to get it even already, not sure what I can do to try harder - ah except. . I’ll move the vice to the other end of the bench, be working from the other side, use the tendency again. That should be all I can do tomorrow, I don’t expect any parts until the next day. . I’m coming around to the new plan, getting excited. It’s a long process, but again, not as long as converting it to a bolt on neck, and s/b a far more desirable result. 👍💜 . /22 #Guitar #Framus12StringProject

  • Holy moley, the back and sides are real, solid wood, and all that striped magic . . . maple(? I think??!?)? . my dream was to match the Revenant, my 6 string, but the Revenant is all one sort of grain on the inside and only the stripes on the outside. Only the top is real wood on the 6 string. . When I thought I was putting a bolt on block inside, I took a few pics to see what was inside, I wasn’t looking for grain, but I just looked at the pics and the stripes are there! The pic is not great, but I think you can see it. . Now I suppose I’m in the market for a 6 string to match my 12 string! LOL . Plus it explains why this one hasn’t got cracks and splits all around like the rest of the Framus’ that age do, it’s proper wood! . Wow, great find, pressure’s on to make it work. 😀💜💜💜 . /23 #Guitar #Framus12StringProject
