California Sues to Block Trump From Weakening Fuel Economy Rules | The lawsuit is the 97th the state has filed against the Trump administration over the past year and a half.
The states say that the Trump administration’s standards are less stringent than what automakers have already achieved, and that federal agencies had ignored recent advances in electric vehicle technology when setting the rules. They also contend that the administration overlooked the costs of oil price shocks and climate pollution.

when states rights means clean air and less cancer instead of codifying institutional racist, classist and sexist policies, I guess that hits different.
