it blows my mind looking at benchmarks and seeing that high end phones have, in just three years, experienced roughly a doubling of CPU peak score and a tripling of GPU peak score, with dramatically better thermal design to sustain that performance and *still* get longer battery life. genuinely incredible stuff

@scarlet@chaos.social As an iPhone 15 Pro owner, I do think something about the thermal design/power consumption of that particular generation was especially broken, given how frequently my phone gets too hot to touch without a case, and how it needs charging 2–3 times a day (when the 8 Plus with a damaged battery it replaced needed 3–4). Good that they’ve fixed it though.
