Took a while but finally cracked open this 3rd generation Kindle that we had lying around. Battery has been shot for years but I figured "I'll get around to it". Now that I actually want to read books I learned how easy this repair would be and spent the $20 on a fresh battery. Fingers crossed it's the only actual problem since this thing is otherwise mint. Might also jailbreak it we'll see 👀
