Tesco have ripped out all but three of the checkouts and replaced them with a self-service area. Damn. It actually looked to me as though they weren't fully installed yet, which is going to make for an interesting Saturday! I think it's a shame that this is now the norm. Older people (like my dad before he was housebound) often need interaction with human beings, and this is one source of it that's drying up.
