and if your suggestion is "well i don't really have an opinion about how systemd actually works, i'm just mad that they keep all their components in the same git repo and no one has bothered to reimplement an API-compatible copy of each one for some reason" then idk maybe find something important to care about

the whole "systemd isn't posix" angle is so fucking weird. posix exists to clean up the compatibility mess created by a the countless unix forks and clones that sprang up in the '80s and '90s. having one implementation that just does the thing is a GOOD THING
