In 1998 the BBC's Damon Rose tried to take a case where a holiday let person in Edinburgh refused him access to a flat citing steps and no rail (but had got funny when he mentioned the guide dog). I'm sure it happens a lot. I bet every blind person has stories of ignorance and excuses like this.

A friend was told that she must not have booked with the exam centre she was arriving at for her exam, because this centre had steps and so obviously couldn't accommodate her. And so, so many more stores
