@bettina@mastodon.nu no you won't be able to read your Kindle books unless you remove drm from them. Which is nearly impossible as Amazon doesn't allow exporting ebooks to computer anymore.

@bettina@mastodon.nu @itsfoss@mastodon.social You can only read the tiny % of ebooks on Amazon that are DRM free, they have an epub download. Amazon doesn't indicate which ebooks are DRM free. The rest can only be read on a newer, registered Kindle, or current Kindle app. Kobo isn't locked down & is far better value. This is a hobby project with too small, too low resolution screen & too slow CPU. Foss is good, but OpenBook Touch is pointless. More expensive than a 7″ ereader here Kobo. Pocketbook & Boox alternatives
