I would argue that it really hasn’t ever been that. I think maybe the closest it ever was that was in the 1990s, but I think people in the LGBTQ community old enough to remember that time firsthand might disagree. To me, it feels like a lot of backsliding has happened since then, with a few small steps forward here and there. The only other period I can think of that could be reasonably argued was the results of The New Deal, but since that was before Roe v Wade and the Civil Rights Act and the EPA, yeah it’s kinda hard to celebrate it without mentioning a few caveats. But maybe we should bring back that 90% corporate tax rate…
