The only time this happens to me is if I run a backup (settings > system > backup) and choose to back up the VPN app, which usually “reports no data to be backed up”, so I exclude the VPN app from being included in my backup. Are you running a backup nightly when you charge?

oh, that’s plausible… I have backups enabled when charging. I’ve excluded VPN apps, hopefully it works. Thank you!
