If journeys with mandatory reservation are included, one would have to travel to Tatvan and Kars in Turkey. Not sure whether that would be a bit too exciting for me. The benefit is that for Finland, going to Kemijärvi and then out via Haparanda is enough, Lieksa falls inside the line between Kemijärvi and Kars.

@tml@mementomori.social I watched a video about the train to Kars recently and am I not convinced. The train has one couchette which according to the youtuber is always sold out months in advance, but he booked a whole compartment for himself. I couldn’t do that. I’m assuming the tourist train to Kars isn’t included in Interrail?
