If your instance is "approval" required you can use this CHECK in the database to just fail the signups entirely based on the message they use to request an account
ALTER TABLE public.user_invite_requests
ADD CONSTRAINT invite_block_spam_bot
CHECK (text NOT ILIKE 'Automated protocol deliverability probe');

@jippi@expressional.social that’s not a problem anymore, we added something like this. Next problem: the bots do not get approved in N days, so they start writing emails to me, asking me to explain why they are not in yet.
