@dyckron@cosocial.ca operating rooms were closed and nurses layed off as a cost saving measure. This created the wait lists for elective surgery. The waits have expanded to 16 months for hip replacements. So patients are forced to rely on addictive pain management to cope. Patients joints deteriorate further, affecting other joints body systems. The result of all this cost saving is to increase the cost of care for patients on the waiting lists. It was conservative liberals who brought this in and NDP has been unable to solve the problem.
