I missed this report that SpaceX has decided to retire the Crew Dragon spacecraft, the only American spacecraft capable of ferrying astronauts to/from the ISS; SpaceX wants to focus its energy on Starship (and orbital data centers) NASA is now looking at revving up the Boeing Starliner program, providing additional funding to fix some of its problems. So much for commercialization of space technology. https://gizmodo.com/spacex-is-retiring-crew-dragon-forcing-nasa-to-bet-big-on-boeings-troubled-starliner-2000814072 1/n

Ars Technica has some more info on the future of NASA w/o the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft. "NASA will announce that it will order two additional Starliner crewed missions from Boeing, pay some of the costs to fix the spacecraft’s thruster issues, and provide support to certify the spacecraft’s launch on a new rocket." SpaceX's Gwynne Shotwell: "We’re just gonna let Boeing have some business. They should fly their capsule. The govt paid a lot of money for that.” 🙄 https://arstechnica.com/space/2026/09/nasa-to-order-more-starliner-missions-and-help-certify-a-new-rocket-to-keep-it-flying/ 2/n
