@AVincentInSpace@furry.engineer StepMania appears to be a sport since (I think) 2023 now that DDR essential patents have expired. (The StepManiaX team would know better than I.)
It remains to be seen whether Konami will behave like The Tetris Company by claiming copyright in those game elements not covered by any patent.

@PinoBatch@peoplemaking.games does this also mean that a stadium full of computers running an open source MOBA or RTS would also be a sport as opposed to an esport
