Battery technology has gotten so much better and cheaper that I wonder if it's not starting to be feasible to have appliances like this with a builtin small battery that will be able to boil water much faster when needed, then slowly recharge when it's done.
Could have higher-power IH heaters and ovens as well, perhaps.

@jannem @TechConnectify Even if it doesn't discharge over time, I'm not sure I want 360kJ of battery just sitting around on my kitchen counter to make fires so much more exciting.
