This hook turn box (on Elizabeth St and Collins St) is in the wrong location making it dangerous. The proper location to make a hook turn from is where you are blocking the waiting traffic. You need to be there so that traffic can't start moving before you complete your turn. I just saw a great example of why this design is dangerous. A cyclist started in to the intersection on a green light, the hook turner was clearly a bit distracted and hadn't completed their turn yet. They started moving just as the cyclist got in front of them and they hit the cyclist. It was slow speed so the cyclist was OK, but their bike was damaged. This could have been worse. #melbourne
