@bnut @MastodonEngineering we support a few minor versions because updating from one to another is more involved than updating to a patch version (patch versions do not involve database migrations or updating system dependencies, for instance)
of course, supporting older branches is more work, so we don't do that indefinitely

@ClearlyClaire @MastodonEngineering makes sense, thanks! I was assuming it was something like that. I suppose there's a tradeoff in engineering effort to make upgrades easier versus supporting older versions
