How does this even involve SCOTUS?

Well, in theory anybody is allowed to petition the Supreme Court to arbitrate their case if they feel all the lower courts they where dealt with below it did them wrong, and the Supreme Court reviews the case and decides to take it or not. In theory. In practice, the court’s clerks will not even read your petition unless your case is exceptionally complex, very public, you’re a billionaire or you’re an orange fascist dementia patient.
